"I've only tried a few items off this menu (fish burger - which had a great serving of fish, potato fritters, chips), but liked them all so far. The staff are nice too :) plenty of space to sit and wait. They even had free lemons when I went last. A tidy rural fish n chip shop."

"Mate, Matangi Fish and Chip Shop is an absolute gem! The chips were cooked spot on, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy in the middle, just how us Kiwis like ’em. Even on a packed Friday night, the crew smashed it out with top-notch service and a smile. Didn’t have to wait long at all, quick as! The burgers? Mean as! Juicy, full of flavour, and properly stacked. And the prices are sweet as too. good feed without breaking the bank. "Cambridge is closer for me but I'd drive the extra distance just for the quality of both their fish and chips. I've tried all the fish and chips shops in Cambridge and I can't recommend any of them. This one is exceptionally good and I've eaten from them a number of times. Tonights meal was excellent again and I felt they deserved a write up here for their consistency in quality."
